This is the
mass grave
site before
survivors and
landsmen
planted trees
around the
area (see more
recent photos
below).
The girl is Lea Ronder (Yudel
Ronder's daughter), and the boy is the late Yosi Genosar (Osik
Ginsburg).
The photo was most likely taken by
Yudel on one of the memorial days. Yudel is the last
survivor living in Lithuania (currently in Kaunas).
The stone is the same one as it is
today. Only only the top plaque, which is made of marble,
was changed.
Along the fence today there are
very big trees but along the dirt road leading to the grave
there are a few new homes (the town is expanding) and the
people who live there are blocking the road to the site. [By
